marriage

marriage...so i went to a beautiful wedding the other day. great kids, good music, awsome venue the works! i know the planning that goes into an event like this cuz i used to be an event planner and as an event planner i often wondered how much planning went into "being married".

way back in the day hispanic tradition dictated that you choose your padrinos (best man and maid of honor) not because they were your best friends but because they had an exempliary marriage and they would be committed to helping you in any way they could thru the hard times of life.
back then, divorce was not an option and one never heard of a pre-nuptual aggreement. i'm just raising the question-shouldn't we put more effort into staying married than we do for one day?
is there someone in your life that you can come along side and mentor with your marriage, maybe not mentor so much, but just to be there to encourage and talk?
i'm just sayin...
